Robot Wars 2016 Champions, Apollo is returning to the arena to defend their title. Boyband Apollo claimed the title after defeating on of the strongest robots in the first series, Carbide. Apollo is the most powerful flipper in the UK with the capability of flipping over a tonne and launching robots six feet into the air. For this series Apollo has a new 1000PSI full pressure carbon dioxide flipper. They also have a 100 millimetre bore ram producing five tonnes of force and new VEX robotics controllers to make Apollo even stronger.

What makes Apollo unique...

Bluecoats Dave and Marc have been friends for ten years, but have only been competing as a robotics team for one year. Last year they flipped three of the House Robots when battling them in the arena and this year they are determined that they will flip all four House Robots. The boys are not new to television, as well as winning Robot Wars, Dave has been on Scrapheap Challenge and Marc has presented the Darts on Sky.
