Pulsar is an all-new machine for this series. It retains its overall shape and theme, but it is clearly an evolution of the previous build. The spinning drum weapon has been upgraded substantially, now weighing in at nearly 24 kilograms with gearing for 8,700 revolutions per minute and over 200 miles per hour at the tip, making it the fastest spinning weapon in the competition. The improved geometry and greater mass gives the weapon more consistent "bite" on the opponent, transferring more energy, more often. It also has much improved armour, increased drive power, and the addition of a self-righting arm; eliminating the original machine's downfall.

What makes Pulsar unique...

Last series Pulsar was eliminated from the competition in the opening round, but they brought back in by the judges when a team in their heat had to drop out. They went on to reach the Grand Final. Ellis has always been a huge fan, and says he has never lived in a world where Robot Wars wasn’t awesome to him. He left education at the age of 16 and taught himself engineering, giving him the skills to compete, after being inspired by the original show. He now owns an online engineering business.
