Biggest Weakness Crushtacean is not spinner proof if our defence against spinners gets taken away.

Crushtacean is a powerful electric crab-bot, designed to look and grip like a crab, with the claws having an intense force of 200 kilograms. It’s armoured exterior has six millimetre aerospace aluminium domes with twelve millimetre in the chassis. The aluminium is greater at absorbing impact than hardened steel, creating an advantage for Crushtacean over other competitors. It is the only robot to be covered in Polyurethane paint, which will protect the claws from spinners.

What makes Crushtacean unique...

Father and son Ian and Dom, have been building Crushtacean for 15 years and they were inspired by the infamous ‘crab-bot’ from Arthur C Clarke’s ‘Rendezvous with Rama’ which destroyed other robots by chopping them up with its claws and dumping them in a pit. The team say they look at Crushtacean like a member of the family now and they took an earlier version of the model to series two, five, and six of the original Robot Wars however Dom was too young too assist.
