Biggest Weakness Glitterbomb was designed solely around its axe, and built quickly (in about a month). As a result, Team Member James fears its others qualities (speed, pushing power) may be weaker as a result.

Designed by nine year-old team captain, April, Glitterbomb has a powerful pneumatic axe, which has up to 1.2 tonnes of force behind it, and can strike at up to 120mph. Its wheels are made from “puncture-proof” polyurethane foam and it has the ability to self-right from any position due to the strength and shape of its axe. Its armour is made from laser-cut Raex, a material that father James says is “extremely, extremely tough.”

What makes Glitterbomb unique...

Glitterbomb was built by James to his daughter April’s demands. They went through six different axes before she was satisfied. James is a passionate roboteer, and has over 30 robots and two mini-arena/practice areas. April has played with these for most of her life.
